How to get ahead in research

Jamie‘s research often seems to involve strange headgear, but always for good reason (e.g the large purple hat during his MSc, used to tell the mink when he was the thrilling person delivering feed versus a boring data collector who should be ignored).

Below, he models an attractive bike helmet with duck-taped light detector. This has two bonuses – it stops his shadow falling on the detector when he’s evaluating regional differences in ambient light around the farm (to see if these affect mink play), and it gives all the farm workers endless amusement.
