Postcard from Becky

3 05 2015
I finally got in touch with Joe Williams (the BC mink breeders president) a little while ago and went to visit his farm on Friday.
There were 15,000 females there + another 5,000 at their family’s other farm!
Joe’s got strong opinions, but that’s maybe not a bad thing: he really wants research done out here in BC on stuff like cage design (he hates having the regulations based on work done in Denmark, or even in Ontario where the climate is different). So he’s fine for researchers to use his farm (and he’ll even build a “research shed” for us to try things out if he gets to expand onto his neighbours’ property as he’s hoping to). It was a very good visit.
