Bad news, worse news, then good news from Lansing

Andrea got a nasty bite today. She was working in the mink room, stumbled, grabbed a cage for support, and *bam* got bit by a lightening quick male.

Three stitches later, she was told the mink would have to be killed so he could be tested for rabies — but Andrea’s not finished collecting data yet, so this would hurt her research (adding to the problems caused by Mr. Happy, the mink who will not be budged). Seemed a double blow.

Then at the last minute, it turns out he can just be ‘quarantined’, which in reality means left in situ, and just watched in case he starts foaming at the mouth (Andrea says her hand doesn’t hurt any more too now, and I’m guessing this helped). PHEW.
